This beautifying treatment, dry to the touch, is extremely nourishing thanks to a synergy between three oils: sesame, apricot, and coconut. This Huile Antique is also divinely scented with green accords. As soon as it is applied, skin regains its radiance and sacred splendour, leaving a trail of galbanum, moss and patchouli.
Description
This dry oil is a perfect nectar for the skin. Composed of three natural plant oils, it possesses a cumulative beneficial effect: the more you use it, the more the skin transforms due to its shaping and moisturizing effects. Sesame oil is a unique treasure: it was the world’s first vegetable extract in Mesopotamia, 3,500 years ago. It has softening qualities and is extremely easily absorbed. Fortified with antioxidants – Vitamin E, lecithin and sesamolin – it protects the skin against ageing. As for apricot oil, it strengthens the skin’s hydrolipidic layer and prevents dehydration. Finally, in this protective trio, comes coconut oil, which softens, tones, and restores unparalleled radiance, thanks to the presence of Vitamins E, K and its rich iron content.
In 1834, Jean-Vincent Bully added Huile Antique to his beauty catalogue, inspired by Ancient Greek cosmetic practices and restorative skincare from thermal baths. This treatment, highly popular at the beginning of the 19th century, when there was a vogue for all things evoking Antiquity, was reinvented and brought up to date by the Officine.
THE GREAT BENEFIT
Once applied, Huile Antique is rapidly absorbed by the skin, leaving no sticky feeling, so you can slip into your evening gown, pants or other daywear as soon as it's applied.
Scent
From the valleys of the Cairngorms to the Northern Highlands, clary sage and galbanum resin mingle with notes of fern, rosemary and caraway seeds. A shadow of rhubarb hides under the green, invigorating smell of moss over granite, kissed by the rain, and comes to warm up next to the open fire with patchouli and Tonka bean accords.
A rare perfume, Scottish Lichen’s and its woody essence are a concentrate of typically Gaelic fervour, of the kind that seizes you when you’re taking an autumnal stroll in the mist-enshrouded Scottish hills, in a Grimm tale wonderland of pine and birch trees, of crimson moors covered in fern and heather, before walking upon vast emerald-green lands peppered with wild broom. Wearing ‘Scottish Lichen’ is to embrace 18th-century Scottish hero Robert Burns’ song, ‘My heart is in the Highlands Wherever I go.’
Advice for Use & Care
Huile Antique can be applied all over the body, on slightly damp skin, after a shower or bath. Massage from the feet up to the neckline area, spending some extra time on the heels, knees and elbows.
Composition
Huile Antique is a mixture of naturally beautifying oils – sesame, apricot, coconut and castor oil – with squalene. Through its biomimetic action, it possesses a natural affinity for the epidermis, and plays the role of a natural emollient.
