WHAT IS A GOOD QUALITY CANDLE ?

A high-quality candle is made of two essential components.

First and foremost, the wax. The candle of the Officine is exclusively composed of plant ingredients. Without paraffin or mineral derivative from petrochemicals, natural wax is made from rice, soya and copra. This high-quality wax has obtained all existing environmental protection certifications: it is guaranteed free from harmful toxins.

The perfume is incorporated into the wax at a very precise temperature to the nearest degree in an extremely precise process.

The plant quality of the waxes chosen by Officine helps preserve the integrity of the twelve atmospheric scents, between strength and nuance throughout the burning process.

Made of pure cotton, the wick allows an even combustion. It infuses in the wax to give it rigidity; the size of this wick is calculated according to its absorption capacity, the diameter and the size of the container.

MARBLE AND GLASS : THE PERFECT SETTING

Marble is a fundamental aspect of the Buly candles. Carved in black or white marble, with different veins that make the candle unique, the container becomes a sumptuous object reminiscent of the splendour of ancient vases.

Since last autumn, the scented candles of the Officine Universelle Buly are available in a new version of red marble with very graphic white veins called “Rosso Levanto”. This unique colour of marble was particularly sought-after in Italian Baroque architecture and the master cabinetmakers of the court of Versailles used it extensively for the most prestigious pieces of furniture in the castle…

A unique thermal conduction material, marble is always cold when touched. This metamorphic rock allows the wax to cool faster. Thanks to this reduced evaporation of the material, the candle is therefore consumed more slowly than in another container.

Moreover, the Officine has been innovative regarding a specific element: the glass bell. A signature of the Officine candles, this blown glass cover protects the candles. As elegant as it is functional, above all, the bell retains all the intensity of the fragrance and it prevents the deposit of dust and other impurities. One only has to place it on the candle to silence its perfume and flame.

LITTLE USER GUIDE OF THE SCENT CANDLE

There is no use in letting this scented candle burn for too long.

To ensure that the candle is consumed in a regular way and does not burn its scent unnecessarily, it is wise to blow out the scented candle when the top layer of wax has become liquid after four hours: the fragrance is then at optimal diffusion.

The total burning time of the candle allows for 80 to 100 hours of olfactory delight.

The base of the marble candle of the Officine Universelle Buly is the ideal support for this unique object. It serves as a protective base for the scented candles. Choose from a similar or contrasting colour for a striking effect.

Always ensure that a candle is extinguished perfectly before leaving the room where it is burning, as it is imperative that candles be kept out of the reach of children and pets.

When the wax is entirely consumed by the flames and it is time to say goodbye, your marble pot can be transformed at leisure and according to inspiration, into a flower vase or a pencil holder. There is not a marble in your house that does not deserve a second life.

The scented candle “Campagne d’Italie”, unfolds a deep note of bergamot and grapefruit crowned with cedar, sandalwood and patchouli. An enchanting and elegant accord that through a volute takes us back to the 18th century in a bucolic Italian landscape at twilight.

“Retour d’Égypte” captivates with profound notes of jasmine, amber, musk and rose. A journey to the foot of the pyramids dreamt up by romantic writers.

“Annibal” tells the story of the peaks of the Alps with notes of cedar, patchouli, and leather cordoned with a crystallized accord of cumin and jasmine.

“Généraux d’Empire” provides a trail of dazzling notes of rose, shrouded with a bouquet of verbena, vetiver and violet, the glorious accord of a fragrant rose garden at dusk.

“Alexandrie” navigates on the banks of the Nile with a green accord of lime, blackcurrant and mint tea, spiced with ginger and rounded off with vanilla.
