Alabaster Généraux d'Empire

By far the most elegant and delicate way to perfume a room, the alabaster is made of three elements: a porcelain box, a stone and a perfume essence bottle. The “Généraux d’Empire” alabaster fills the chosen space – antechamber, boudoir, bathroom, dressing room, car and other glove compartments – with an intoxicating blend of rose and violet, intertwined with verbena, vetiver, and cedar wood.

Scent

The “Généraux d’Empire” Alabaster brings back to life the much coveted rose, the rose traditionally gifted to victorious soldiers. The sweet rose, brushed by violet and blackcurrant, nestles in bright green leaves and luminous grass with peppermint, verbena and rosemary.

But above all, this bouquet evokes a folly, and what a folly! Empress Joséphine de Beauharnais’s magnificent rose garden, the most magnificent of its time, created in her Malmaison domain at the beginning of the 19th century.
In “Généraux d’Empire”, the generous roses, the myriad of petals and buds wears a coat of musk and patchouli. They’re lightly surrounded by the spirited, woody scents of vetiver and cedar, just like the Bois-Préau park around the rose garden. Fascinated by botany, Josephine offered sumptuous cedar trees, gifts that would survive centuries: the first to her husband upon his victory in Marengo in 1800, and another one to Belgian artist Pierre-Joseph Redouté, who drew a beautiful inventory of all of her roses. His drawings are now legendary for all flowers lovers.

In her ideal rose garden grew more than 2000 rose trees from 250 species from all around the world, even, despite the trade embargo, from rival England – from its gardens came precious Hume's Blush Tea-Scented China and many other collected by horticulturist André Dupont. A pioneer of hybridization, the specialist created 25 new roses for the Empress.
“Généraux d’Empire” celebrates this extraordinary collection of enchanting roses, a garden where Rosa Gallica, Centifolia, Albas and Damask Roses mingled happily.

“Return, said Ami, toward this Danger; he is not as awful as he seems; persuade him with sweet words, and he shall let you see your dear Rose once more.”
The Romance of the Rose, 13th century

The Officine's prowess

The Alabaster is a new heatless, smokeless way to diffuse a fragrance, with a considerable perfuming power. Its name comes from the Greek vases used to draw and hold scented oils for body care rituals or the first perfumes, and whose porous pottery retained the exquisite scent.

The Alabaster is a painted porcelain box – there’s a choice of three portraits – containing a simply cut piece of an extremely porous sedimentary stone, and comes with a 5 ml perfume concentrate bottle. The pumice stone and its myriad vesicles is extremely absorbant and therefore the perfect mineral to diffuse the scent.

Open or close the box of the Alabaster at will to free the fascinating Buly fragrance or to seal it back in.

Advice for Use & Care

Pour 1/3 of the perfume essence on the stone.

The scented blend diffuses naturally while the elegant blue and white porcelain box is open. The Alabaster is perfect to perfume wardrobes, drawers, bathrooms, cars, small and medium-sized rooms efficiently and durably.

NB. Pour the perfume essence with care. In case of contact with hands, wash them and rinse them thoroughly. Do not ingest and keep out of the reach of children. Keep away from heat or spark sources. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.

GÉNÉRAUX D’EMPIRE: AN INVITATION TO A JOURNEY

Laughter echoes through the hallways of castles, palaces and inns, through wide-open bedrooms, the atmosphere redolent with victory. On the floor: naked lovers, musical silks, crumpled dresses and uniforms, the velvet of roses and violets, flowers and fruit spilling out of overturned baskets.
