Description

You don’t need a barber chair nor professional expertise to have a proper close shave. Our Crème Pogonotomienne, or “the art of the proper shave”, is first in line for this special ritual. Preparing your skin properly is essential. The cream is perfectly velvety, deliciously scented with Japanese cypress wood, divinely textured, and enthralling as it produces an admirable softness everywhere it is applied. Sweet almond soothes skin irritations and provides a silky veil, while deeply nourishing beeswax leaves a protective layer on the skin to prevent itching. It’s a shaving cream and an after shave at once. The skin is soft and smooth. The cheeks are finally ready for the most charming of attentions: a delicate kiss, on a delicate skin.
NB. Pogonotomy is not a dance: it’s the classic art of the proper shave. The word comes from ancient Greek, by way of the expert hands of Alphonse Bouchard, a famous 19th-century barber. “Pogos” means “beard”, and “temno” means “to cut”.

Advice for Use & Care

Massage the cream into the skin to soften the hair and skin. Using a clean razor, slowly shave the chosen hairy parts of the face and rinse with warm, clear water between two strokes. Remove any extra trace with a warm, wet cloth, or rinse thoroughly, depending on what you prefer.

The proper procedure for opening an Officine Universelle Buly tube. To do so, take a sharp object that you are comfortable with, a pair of scissors or a letter opener are recommended. Bring out the surgeon in you and remove the seal by carefully cutting it open. Your cream is now completely ready to use.

Composition

Sweet almond oil nourishes the skin and soothes itching and irritation. Beeswax leaves a protective barrier on the skin.
